Little Mountain Doula

The role of a Post Partum Doula is to nurture you and your family, at home, usually in the first few weeks following the birth of your baby.

email Nancy
As a Postpartum Doula I provide support, companionship, assistance with newborn care,
sibling adjustment, simple meal preparation, and help with household organization.
I can offer evidence-based information on infant feeding, emotional and physical recovery from childbirth,
and other issues related to the postpartum period, and can make referrals if necessary.
I am always happy to provide instruction in Infant Massage.
I provide emotional, physical and educational support only, not medical care.

As an Overnight Doula, the focus is on breastfeeding and sleep for the entire family,
and the doula usually provides significant respite care.
Support at night allows breastfeeding moms to sleep between night feedings,
and partners to sleep through them, to be more helpful during the day, or work.
Household tasks are limited to quiet ones like laundry folding.
This contract can easily run for longer than a few weeks, especially for twins,
and it is suggested that you arrange for support well in advance.
